Leyna was the easiest decision I could have ever made. I went to CCK to see a new litter of pups with one mission I was going to pick out a black female. There were two in the litter, a pheasant wing was brought out...without hesatation Leyna locked on point! She stayed on point for a couple minutes, the wing was removed and she didn't even flinch. She had to be picked up and moved from her position just to go back and search for that wing. She did this at the ripe age of 5 weeks. This is a trait that she has passed on to all of her offspring.
Leyna is the mellowest shorthair I have ever seen, she is most content to lay on the couch in the house but out in the field she hits her points hard and holds.

Leyna has been known to get in the water when it is below 40 degrees outside and the water is even cooler. She is a water dog through and through!
Leyna competed in the GSPC of MN's Chuckar Challenge on March 29th, 2008 and for never ever seeing a Chuckar before; she found all of her birds plus two more! She also had the longest retrieve of the day bringing back a bird that fell on the other side of the field!
Leyna repeated her 2008 showing at the MN GSPC Chuckar Challenge in 2009. After the event we ran her on some more birds and she held point on one for over 5 minutes while we conversed with other breeders and trainers.Leyna in her spot on the couch.
